Our Story

It all started in 1978 with Tom and Betty Sheridan.

Originally opened in 1938 as Clearwater Lodge, Sheridan’s was virtually untouched until 2009. Since then a great deal of the restaurant and tavern has been refurbished. Improvements include: bathrooms, kitchen, party room, inside and outside dining, game room, exterior curb appeal and handicap accessibility. More importantly, the renovations did not remove any of the old world charm that has made Sheridan’s so successful over the years. The building appears unchanged since 1938!

Today

Family owned and operated from the beginning, Sheridan’s offers warm and friendly service, good food and drink, in a unique setting overlooking beautiful Lake Iliff. Every seat in both dining rooms overlooks the lake, a mere twenty feet away. Sheridan’s serves wonderful home style meals that include chicken pot pies, steaks, pasta, meatloaf, cottage pie, burgers, incredible salads, fresh seafood and more. The bar is one of the largest in Sussex County and offers great choices of wine, cocktails and beers.

It is truly a neighborhood tavern – something that is disappearing in today’s society.
